5th DAV (NEB) +2 Futsal Tournament-2024
The 5th DAV (NEB) +2 Inter-College Futsal Tournament-2024 was a successfully completed on January 30, 2024, with Mr. Anil Kumar Kedia, the Chairperson of Kedia Organization, in attendance. The primary aim of the tournament was to promote discipline and cultivate talented football players.
The opening ceremony marked Mr. Pradip Maharjan, a former national football player, as the Chief Guest. Mr. Suman Basnet, the Principal of DAV College and the secretary of HISSAN, Lalitpur Chapter, delivered a welcoming speech. The event also witnessed the presence of Mr. Raj Kumar Sah, Corporate Marketing Head of Kedia Organization, Mr. Nishant Shrestha, National Director of Global Touch, and Mr. Mahabir Agrawal, the Proprietor of Shiva Shakti Uniform and President of Ekal Vidhayalaya.
During the ceremony, Mr. Sumna Basnet, the Principal of DAV College, highlighted that this tournament offered the highest prize money ever for a +2 level competition. Mr. Anil Kumar Kedia, Mr. Suman Basnet, Mahabir Agrawal, and Mr. Nishant Shrestha jointly awarded a cash prize of Rs. 3, 00,000, along with a trophy and certificates, to the winning team, Vinayak Siddha College. The first runner-up, Kumari Academy (KEBS) received Rs. 2, 00,000 along with trophies and certificates.
Individual awards were also presented, with Mr. Bhargav Silwal of DAV College receiving the Best Player Award, Mr. Bivek Shrestha of Kumari Academy being honored as the best Goalkeeper, and Mr. Mahesh Darnal of Vinayak Siddha College earning the Highest Scoring Award. Each of these outstanding players was awarded Rs.15, 000 along with a trophy and certificates.
On the whole, the event successfully celebrated and recognized excellence in futsal, contributing to the development of skilled and disciplined football players at the +2 level.
