To develop discipline and skillful athletes, the inauguration ceremony of the 6th D.A.V. +2 Inter College 6-A Side Futsal Tournament 2025 was held on January 29, 2025, at the DAV College Futsal Ground. The event saw participation from students representing 40 colleges across the Kathmandu Valley.
The ceremony was graced by the Chairman of DAV College, Mr. Anil Kedia, with the Honorable Minister of Youth and Sports, Teju Lal Chaudhary, serving as the chief guest. Other special guests included Ms. Ranjana Pradhan, a member of the Nepal Sports Council and Principal of Nightingale College. Notable attendees were Mr. Sujit Karna, Vice President of the Krishna Foundation; Mr. Mahabir Girahiya, President of the Ekal Vidhyalaya Foundation; Mr. Mahesh Girahiya, Director of Shiva Shakti Uniform; Mr. Nishanta Shrestha, National Director of Global Touch; and a representative from Frontline Hospital. Mr. Suman Basnet, Principal of DAV College, stated that the competition, which ran for three days, was a significant event for +2 level students.
The winning team, DAV College, received a trophy, certificates, and a cash prize of Rs. 300,000 from Mr. Anil Kedia, Mr. Suman Basnet, Mr. Mahabir Girahiya, and Mr. Nishanta Shrestha. The first runner-up, Omega College, received a trophy, certificates, and Rs. 200,000.
Additionally, individual awards were presented: Mr. Bhargav Silwal from DAV College was named the best player, Mr. Ridham Ale Magar from Omega College was recognized as the best keeper, and Mr. Yoganta Mahajan, also from Omega College, was the high scorer. Each of them received Rs. 15000 along with trophies and certificates.
